Privacy Policy
The Pet Care Card keeps your pet's records on your device and, because you sign in to use the app, securely backs them up to our servers so they are safe and follow you across your devices. We handle only the information needed to run your account, sync your records, your purchases, and the AI photo features. We never sell your information.
1. Who we are
The Pet Care Card is a product of The Perception Collective Pty Ltd (ABN 92 667 811 181, "we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what we do and do not collect when you use The Pet Care Card app and website (thepetcarecard.com.au).
2. The short version
- Your pet records - profiles and photos, vaccinations, worming, flea and tick, medications, weight, documents, expenses and insurance details - are stored on your device.
- Because you sign in to use the app, a copy of those records is also securely backed up to our servers, so they are safe and available on any device where you sign in.
- We also handle your account details, your purchase and credit balance, and any photo you choose to send to the AI photo features. Each is explained below.
- We never see or store your credit card details - payments are handled entirely by the app stores or our payment provider.
3. Information we handle
- Your account. You sign in with Google, with Apple, or with an email address and password. With Google or Apple we receive your name and email address (and, from Google, your profile photo) to set up your account; if you sign up with email, we store your email and a securely hashed password (never the password itself). We never receive your Google or Apple password.
- Your pet records (backup and sync). So your records are backed up and work on every device you sign in to, the records you create - pet profiles, health and care entries, and the photos and documents attached to them - are stored on our secure cloud servers and synced to your devices (photos and files in object storage, the rest in our database). You can delete records in the app at any time, and delete your account and its data (see "Your rights").
- AI photo features. When you choose to transform a pet photo with our AI scenes, that photo is sent to our server and on to a third-party AI provider (Google, using its Gemini models) to generate the new image, which is returned to your device. This only happens when you tap to create a scene. We do not keep your original photo on our servers after the image is generated, and we do not use your photos to train AI models. The AI provider processes the image under its own terms.
- Purchases and credits. Purchases are handled by the app stores or, on the web, by our payment provider. We receive confirmation of the purchase and your resulting subscription or credit balance, which we store against your account. We never see or store your full card numbers.
- Basic technical data. To run the service, meter free credits and prevent abuse, our servers process standard request data, including a device identifier the app generates and ordinary server logs.
- Contact. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include, and use it to respond.
4. Your pet records and photos
Your pet records and the photos in them are stored on your device and, because you sign in to use the app, also backed up to our servers so they sync across your devices and survive reinstalling the app or switching phones. You stay in control: you can edit or delete any record in the app, and deleting your account removes the copy we hold. You can also export a PDF care sheet (your pet's profile and key records) to print or share - this is a summary, not a complete copy of every photo and memory.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell your information. The limited information above is handled only by the service providers that help us run the product, and only so they can provide their service: our cloud hosting and storage provider, a third-party AI provider (Google, for the photo features), our sign-in providers (Google and Apple), an email provider (for account emails such as verification and password reset), and the app stores and our payment provider (for purchases).
No advertising or tracking. We do not show ads, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we never share your information with advertisers or data brokers. The device identifier we generate is used only to meter free credits and prevent abuse - never for advertising.
6. Overseas processing
Some of those providers process data outside Australia, including in the United States. By using the app you consent to this handling, which we put in place only to provide the service.
7. Children's information
The Pet Care Card is intended for adults managing their pets. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your rights
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app, which permanently erases your records and the account information we hold (see how to delete your account). You can also delete individual records in the app, or email us to access or delete the information we hold.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page, with the date shown above.
